Today was a really beautiful day in Ninety Six. Temperatures the last few days have been in the mid 70's to low 80's. "Spring has sprung" and plants are starting to bloom, Thanks for visiting our March, 2009 12 of 12.

Tulip tree, also known as a Japanese Magnolia, in bloom in our back yard. My better half, the Lady Diane, can be seen raking in the distance.

The newest addition to our family came to check out what I was doing.
I don't know the proper name, but, to us, this is a "Red Bud" about to bloom.

Took a walk and the next few pictures are plants that are blooming in the wild near our house. I believe that this is a form of Daffodil.

Absolutely no idea what this is, but it is gorgeous.

Vinca, also known as a Periwinkle.

Scourge of yards, but pretty, is the Dandelion.

And another one that I am unable to identify.

This is tonight's fried chicken thawing out.

After dinner, we took a golf cart ride around the neighbor's pond.

This pine has been hit by lightening and is on the edge of the pond adjacent to the dam.

Over-night we had a terrible wind storm. Our power went out and it made for an interesting night. This morning we did have power back and, as I went about re-setting clocks in the house, it made me think of just how many clocks we do have. So, here's a sampling of some of our clocks:

The kitchen stove was telling us something the very

Coffee timer needs re-setting, we'll do that later and make coffee
now.

Regulator in our kitchen. It's a thirty day clock that chimes.
This is a thirty day chimer, too. It sits on the mantle.

Just a cute little clock (nothing special, just cute) that sits in the rear entrance hall.
This cuckoo clock drives me absolutely crazy keeping
it regulated. It is soooo tempermental.
Speaking of clocks, the programmable
thermostat has one.
And, how many of us use our trusty cell to
tell us the correct time?
I've shown this one before. It was my parents' and
I'll probably show it again sometime. We wind it every
eight days and it keeps perfect time.
The regulator in the den. This one is easy, we replace
the batteries about every twelve months.

For the past two days we have had rain, three and three-quarter inches to be exact, and we were "house bound." That's not all bad though, we did finish up our holiday decorations. Today we woke up to beautiful, sunny weather. We'll finish up the outdoor decorations and share some of our "Holiday Spirit" with you. We hope that you have a Very Happy and Safe Holiday Season.

7:55 a.m. Gotta get going, things to do.

8:40 a.m. Remember how low the lake was last month? Rains up in the mountains have replenished the lake.

8:45 a.m. The little red truck waiting to take me to Greenwood

9:05 a.m. The abandoned neighborhood water tower. We can see it now that the trees have dropped their leaves

3:50 p.m. Decorations are finished, time to share some "Spirit" with you

3:55 p.m. Our "Charlie Brown" tree in the backyard gazebo

4:10 p.m. Our Christmas cactus is blooming early

4:15 p.m. The tree in our living room. Diane holds my butt to steady me when the angel goes on.

4:15 p.m. Garland and poinsettias on the stairway

4:25 p.m. Tree on our upstairs landing

6:20 p.m. The photocell finally turned on the outside lights

6:40 p.m. We are headed out to dinner and see tonight's prettiest light of all
